Photo Gallery - Barrie-Allandale Model Train Show
Feb 16 & 17, 2008
Barrie, Ontario
The Barrie-Allandale Railway Modellers presented their 2008 show on Feb 16th & 17th at the Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery in Barrie..
ModelRailroadCanada.com visited on the Saturday and the large parking lot was almost full within a half-hour of the opening of the show.
In addition to the host organization, other clubs and groups had layouts and exhibits spread thoughout the large indoor showroom. Included were the Tioga Everett Alliston Valley with their unique 'One-Of-A-Kind' trailer-mounted exhibit and the NTRAK gang from Sudbury travelled all the way down Hwy 69/400 with an impressive display. Some of the other groups at the show were the Erin Mills Model Railway Association, Midland District Railroad Club, Richmond Hill Live Steamers, Central Niagara Railroad Club and Fred Aldred's massive G Scale exhibit that proved a very popular display for the many families that attended.
The vendors were well represented with the opportunity for modellers to meet and talk to manufacturers' representatives from companies such as Osborn Model Kits, Full Steam Ahead wooden kits and Hunterline's craftsman products, as well as purchasing new and used equipment at the tables scattered thoughout the showroom.
The N.M.R.A booth was manned by area president Nev Meads from Bobcaygeon and C.A.R.M was also on hand to sign up members.
